Our Mission
Psalm 149 Dance Mission Statement
Psalm 149 is a community of people who love God, love people, and love dance.
We believe dance is a gift—something that can bring people together, tell stories, create beauty, and remind us of who we are. We dance because we were made to create, and we share that gift because we want every person who encounters our community to know that they are deeply loved, deeply valuable, and worthy of belonging.
Our faith is part of who we are, but we don't believe it has to be separated from the art we create or the people we love. We seek to make space for questions, growth, joy, healing, connection, and becoming.
At Psalm 149, dance is more than what happens in a studio or on a stage. It is a way of connecting with one another, expressing what words sometimes cannot, and celebrating the beauty of being human.
We love God. We love people. We love dance. And we believe there is something sacred about bringing those things together.

Personal Mission Statement:
Proverbs 3:5-6 teaches us to “Trust in the Lord with all your heart. Lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge him and he will direct your path.” My personal goal as a dancer and follower of Christ, with and through Psalm 149 Dance ministries, is to live out Philippians 4:13: “I can do all things through Christ who gives me Strength.” I strive to live fully for God; trusting him in all areas of my life. My mission is to live out the ideas found in the book of Exodus that your talents are gifts from God that he wants you to use to glorify him. One of my favorite Bible verses is John 1:14, “the word became flesh and dwelt among us.” This is in reference to Jesus being the truth, the life, and the way. Jesus Christ was God manifested in the flesh, and I believe that the word of God can be expressed through the body in the same way that Jesus was the word of God.
